Subject: CAIPS
got a question in regards to Caips. i applied for CAIPS on July-28th. So its almost like 3 months and no response as of yet.

I applied for Caips via http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.html

Now i realized that there is also this www.caips.ca, where it costs anywhere from 42- 148 $. Is applying for Caips thro´ this web-site, the BEST way for applying Caips?

the way i understand is that as the former is Govt, it is free and as the latter is private, it costs them atleast 42 bucks. And also, can you atleast understand the basic caips notes or you think i should go for the expensive interpreted one.

appreciate your thoughts guys

Hi Ranga,

Where do you live? Did you apply for your notes under the Privacy Act? If you have then you can write a letter to CIC requesting them to give you information about your notes.

Websites like www.caipsnotes.com(US$ 30) or www.caips.ca(US$ 35) are for those people who do not live in Canada and wish to get their CAIPS notes. Although it costs only CA$ 5 (plus postage charges) to get the notes its their business and they have to earn some money.

It does not matter if you apply for the notes on your own or by using the website as it will take the same time as the notes are provided by CIC on a first come first serve basis.
