Subject: my timeline, any hope in 2006?
  April 2004 applicaton to Buffalo
May 2004 AOR
March 2005 IA, IELTS required, no medical
June 2005, IELTS result submited to Buffalo
till now, nothing happened and waiting...

All I see on the forum is bad news. It seems that the process will take longer than before due to the applications before 2002.

Any simliar cases, please share!

You mean medical request must come with IA?
If so, I´ll have to fax and ask them.

Yes it does seem rather strange that you did not get your medical request. Please do enquire. I am under the impression that a medical test is a must for skilled worker applicants.

Hi Optimas,

In March 2005 did you just get a letter requesting you to provide the IELTS score OR did you get a letter saying that the interview has been waived?

Medical forms are always provided with the IA. So send a letter to Buffalo and inquire about the status of your file.

If you have not ordered CAIPS notes then do so immediately. Visit www.caipsnotes.com for more details.

Hi Kenny,

I think I only got a letter requiring IELTS. So that was not IA? Because it´s been 1.5 year since I sent the application, I am just wondering why it takes so long to get IA.

Please make sure that what you got last March 2005 was the IA. An IA letter should definitely say something about your interview...is it waived or required?. In Buffalo applications, Medical forms always come with the IA regardless if your interview is waived or not. If that letter does not say anything about the interview then probably it is just a document request letter.

Thanks Joe05. It´s clarified now.
Maybe my case is out of luck and needs 32 months or longer to be finalized. :(

Oh yeah! I just noticed that as well. You only had IELTS request but no medical request. I don´t think you´ve got to the IA stage yet. CIC only asked you to take IELTS, they haven´t given you IA for interview / interview waiver yet.

I applied Feb 2004, just 2 months ahead of you. I got my IA Oct 2004 but interview was required. Let´s just hope that with your IELTS update, you can get a waiver of interview....goodluck and make your waiting time productive :)
