Subject: Cause for concern (continued): 2-3 year delay
It is well worth reading the various postings on this subject at the brtish expats blog:

Hopefully, Mr. Miller is wrong, but it is very frustrating to to consider the possiblity he might be right.

I am in Mocsow, the processing times here are always huge, but now thing might have changed - they explain some matters at the seminar recently and it is reflected at their site. So, Mr Miller might be right or wrong - it is probably his point of view. Read this link http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/canadaeuropa/russia/embassy3-8-en.asp
and pay attention to the article Cases received before 2002 being processed

I have to give credit to the Moscow CIC folks. They state the processing time very clearly. I just wish Buffalo CIC could do the same.

Do you think the LUCKY souls who have received a reply from Buffalo that their application will be finalized in early 2006 get affected? I think , TIM you need not worry

long wait
(in reply to: Cause for concern (continued): 2-3 year delay)
Hi Tim:
I read your earlier post regarding the "communication" aspect of this entire immigration process. I dont mind waiting for as long as possible...as long as Buffalo is open, honest and clear with me regarding my timeline. With a clear timeline & regular communication between the two parties, I can atleast plan ahead and make the most of my wait. For the moment, everything is left to speculation and it is articles (like the one in discussion) that cause unnecessary stress and undue worry for those of us left to wait in limbo. I´m sorry if I sound like Im whining but I find it quite unfair.

I guess all this was caused by some guy posting that commentary yesterday. All that is just speculation, nobody has actually talked to a lawyer, and we are just letting ourselves go into panic and frustration.

Me
(in reply to: Cause for concern (continued): 2-3 year delay)
Candice: I agree totally. Their greatest weakness is the lack of communication. If they would tell me now it will take another two years I would get my ROLF fee back and move on. But there is no way of knowing. If only they would use e-CAS or some other means of posting accurate news about the timelines. But alas, I think I am hoping in vain.

ME: The guy posting on the british expats blog, Andrew Miller, is an immigration lawyer. But we can only hope he is wrong on this point.

i m not sure about the 130 000 number, it s huge, and of course it s not all in buffalo, like they say moscow has 1500 case, and they state clearly that most of the cases have problems. so how much buffalo have ? 10 % of the total number ? a bit more ? and probably most of these guys have to redo their medicals, in cxase they re still alive :S

i dunno how much it will slow down... i don´t think that it will be that bad for buffalo

It is all true...it sucks but they have to get the backlogged stuff done first......if you are planning to apply....be prepared to wait.
