| Subject: How long have to wait for decision after interview |

Hi,please help me:)We have an interview on June 20th,2005.We needed to send more documents (FBI,and some regarding my present work) during next 30 days, so we did it. Now we are waiting and waiting,and waiting...Could somebody can tell how long it usually takes to get decision?Now there is 4 months after interview (3 months after sending needed documents)and how long more??How long it usually takes?When it is "unusually long"?And what then?Can we mail them and ask about our case?And one more question,everybody is telling about papers for a medical exam mailed AFTER interview!!!But we had them BEFORE interview and did the exam!!!!Will we do it again?Thank you for any help!!!!

I don´t think you will have to do the medicals once again. Just wait for the decision.
imho this is what the next stage is about.

Some people get the medical forms before the interview and some get them after it. There are different operating procedures followed in different countries.
As you have already completed your medical you dont need to worry about anything.
At this point you can do nothing but wait. You can send a letter to the consulate where you were interviewed to request the status of your application.
Where were you interviewed? Can you please share your interview experience and your timeline.

My timeline is:
July 14th,2003 they started my application process
March 30th,2004 informed me that interview is required and files waiting to be send from Buffalo to Detroit
June 2nd,2004 file transferred to Detroit
January 5th,2005 interview scheduled for March 8th,2005
January 24th,2005 interview waived!!!
February 1st,2005 did the medical exams
April 20th,2005 interview scheduled for June 20th,2005!!!
June 20th,2005 interview in Detroit
July 13th,2005 they received needed documents
CIC site says about our case: In Process
July 14th,2003 started processing
Interview scheduled for June 20th,2005
and that´s it!!!Nothing more!!
Now we are waiting.And about interview double scheduling: everything would be ok first time,but we have lawyer:(,he didn´t send FBI,when it was required!!!So they scheduled another interview:(
If anybody have an idea,how much longer we have to wait?
Medical exams are good only for a year,so in February it´ll be a year!!What if we won´t get answer till then??

Well question about medicals is little confusing because sometimes they extend your medicals and sometimes they ask you to do them again. You are under background check, i assume, did they tell you that they will be doing some kind of background check on you. If in normal cases it takes this much longer then i think i will have to wait for years coz they clearly told me that they will be doing an extended background check on me. I hope you are not the victim of background check.

It just happend to me recently a month ago. They required some documents after the interview. I sent them but no reply after that. Can anybody tell me how long it will take.

We received finally a reply on Dec 12,2005,that we had to send them passport and our visas only would be valid till Feb 1,2006,because of validity date of our medicals.We had only a month to leave,but we managed to do it successfully.Now we are in Canada:)
So after a interview in June,we got our visas in December and landed in Canada in January.You have to wait patiently.You can also contact your immigrant officer directly,as we did,he/she can give you some orientation information.Keep waiting.Good luck
