Hi,
I recieved an email from Buffalo 2 weeks ago, that stated "Your file will be reviewed for finalization early 2006" . I didnt knew what this mean, so i contacted our MP and she checked it for me. Ottawa says that Background Check is complete and they have recieved a recomendation letter and my passport copy. NOW WHAT DOES THIS MEANS? they say check back again in mid december.

Most of the people have got the same response from CIC Buffalo to get back to them in "Early 2006". Seems like it the quota for this year is over.
Can we contact the MP? Is it Member of Parliament? I am in Montreal, if I want to look into my filel info can I contact my MP?

Hey WakiPaki,
Thats really interesting, I have got all the info of my city MP, will the MP be able get CAIPS notes for my PR file?
Can you tell me whether the MP could just tell the bring forward date, and whether the background check, security check, criminal checks are over or not?

MP can certainly get the information about what stage ur file is. and if all the documents are there. and also will find out when can u expect some progress on ur case.

You don´t need to give MP any letter. Tell them ur name and file number, MP will check for you.
It´s very simple and they are very nice people.

Thanks a lot guys. This is amazing, better than CAIPS.
How long does it take? I guess one week or two weeks? only when they go to Ottawa right? Or else they cannot get the information at all..
