Subject: About IELTS
What is the difference between General and Acedemic modules of IELTS? Which one is easy? Any response highly appriciated.

I did not take IELTS but from this forum I learned that general is the easier one.

Thanks Joe05. Recently Im refering IELTS exam papers, but not sure wheather they are General or Acedemic. The reading section drives me nuts.Hope they are Acedemic.

Hi,
Here is my 2 Bit on this.


I understand that academic is for people who want pursue further studies;For Immigration General is fine and for maximum points you need to score minimum 7 in all the 4 sections.

dear Watcher
the ilets required for the canadian immigration is the general one , the Acedemic exam is for studying .
the main difference between the 2 is the written and reading modules ,but the listening and the interview is the same ..
the difference is that its more techinical with diagrams and stuff that you wount be needing at all for the immigration process
so if you are going to do the ilets then do the general exam and Good luck .
