...Had to post here ´cause it wouldn´t let me reply to your original post. But what are you complaining about? It´s normal not to have heard anything by now if your application is fairly new, particularly as you are in South America. The current processing times are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/05-fc-spouses.html It will take anywhere from 3-6 month (min) to 20 months or more. You can´t just apply and get PR for someone in a week, be patient!

Hi, my situation is my wife is in south america, I am in the states but I am a canadian citizen with a job offer in canada. The problem is that I still dont have sponsor approval, we know the PR process will take at least 6 months in the foreign visa office, the problem is at the missisauga CPC, many people get sponsorship approval as soon as the envelope is opened, mine has been delayed over a month, and it is not even forwarded to the visa office overseas, another words, PR process has not even begun yet even though we submitted complete application on august 23 and they started processing on sept 23. Its not fun being separated from your wife.

Correction, they started processing on sept 8, and we are still waiting for "sponsor approval" despite me sending them copies of my job offer (which is a high paying,excellent job in canada).

sponsorship approval can take 5-6 weeks.
then the amount of time for actual PR
