Landed Immigrants can fill out a form from Canada Revenue and get a $400 check..

That´s true. People living in Alberta will get a cheque for $400 in January 2006. However, there are some eligibility requirements. If you have lived in Alberta on the 1st of September 2005 and have filed your 2004 taxes, then you can get the cheque.
