Subject: sponsoring spouse who has deport'n record abroad |

I´m hoping someone can help me.
I am sponsoring my husband who two and a half years ago was deported from Australia (he moved and forgot to inform the authorities and so when they couldn´t find him, they revoked his visa and he became illegal there - when he went of his own accord to apply for residency there, he was given a deportation order and left shortly after). He is a Brazilian/German citizen. I need to know if this is going to affect his chance of getting residency here through my sponsorship? His record is otherwise perfect. Do I need a lawyer? Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

(in reply to: sponsoring spouse who has deport'n record abroad) This shouldn´t be a problem, but you will need to describe the event, in detail, to CIC at the time of applying.
Perhaps you would be interested in having your application audited prior to its submission? The fee is very reasonable, and our services outstanding. Please visit www.e-ca.ca for more details.
