Subject: to the admin guys
I hope you have a change of heart about controls on your forum. It is not a fun place any more. The rude and the ignorant seem to be taking over the place.

I wish you the best.

(no doubt, this thread will quickly fill with cheering, applause and rude remarks)

Yep, let´s grab our coats, I´m with you girl.

I´ve said this before and I will say it again;

The immigration process is frustrating/stressful enough. CIC judges our personal lives, and they have that right. Trolls on the internet, do not. When we come online to seek a little information, support and understanding, we shouldn´t have to endure that here, too.

The trolls here are nothing short of abusive, and the longer they are permitted to ABUSE good people, the more they will infest.. like a Cancer.

Not something I choose to subject myself to.

Good luck, and Godspeed.

I´ll FOURTH this post.

When I first got here, it seemend like a good place, but half the people on her just want to bad mouth everyone who has done nothing to them with their bad English and Grammar and sound like a drugged out 10 year old.

Requiring people to not only register, but to have site moderators actually watch the boards and try to weed out as much as possible of their garbage would be nice.

hell i´ll do it, I can´t work during the PR process.. anything to keep these forums clean for those who have genuine questions and friendly chat.

my two cents..

I agree with ejspet.

I run several bulletin boards.
everyone has to register to be able to post
and user has to have a real valid email address
that way we can banned or block any rude posting by IP or IP range.

I agree. When I turned to this forum few months ago, it was a clean and really helpful place. Now, some folks, most likely very few - have kind of taken over with words that are not only indecent but offensive. If Canada will be filled with such illiterate uncouths, wonder if we all should even dream of making it our future homes.

On brighter note, since they can´t write one correct sentence in English, reading their posts (filled with profanity) does amuse me.

I disagree (in reply to: to the admin guys)
I disagree with censoring the board. Although I am appalled by the language and rude treatment displayed, I do not think censoring it is the answer.

Let´s take care of it by ignoring it or responding to it in an intelligent manner.

Best is to ignore we donot like.

I will give you example of the annoying dude who was posting why we should not immigrate to Canada. After all ignored him, we donot see him on forum anymore.

You don´t see him anymore because the domain name was filtered (try typing in ´notcanada´ .com (without quotes), your post will disappear into thin air. That was a very proactive step taken by the admins here.

However, it is never okay to allow personal attacks on that level. It´s fine to say ignore them unless you´re the one being attacked. Other than talk about his life experiences in Canada, did DB ever do anything to warrant being berated and flamed like that? Did any of us who dared to stand up for him?

This is not the kind of crap we come here looking to find.

Censorship and freedom of speech crap doesn´t fly on the internet. Websites are owned and operated by individuals, and someone has to pay for the server and hosting costs. Behaving obnoxiously on a website is essentially the same as pissing in someone´s livingroom, it´s rude.

You said it right FWChelle - it is like pissing in someone elses livingroom.
I noticed that not.canada.guy disappeared but didn´t know what happened. Hm, interesting you found that out.

I´ve been reading this forum since early days and after all you can always count that someone will post an answer on your question. The best part that I like is that people don´t need to register to post a mesage or to reply. You see registration is not a big deal, but sometimes I know the answer but if I need to register I will not get register just to reply to the question asked.
Anyhow... we all have our preferences.

I think we need to censor the language but not the views. On numerous occasions I have noticed that the person using abusive language has a valid point and I would say that he/she could be aggravated due to some reason, resulting in a bad choice of words. Just like there are people who use such type of language, there are also others amongst us who live behind the civilized language curtain, but whose views are even more detrimental and dogmatic.
Its never a easy task to get control in such an environment, and the admin can only do so much, as we do need everyone´s views.
I don´t understand one thing though.... why would you allow it to get to you ? Agreed the same discussion may run into 2-3 threads, but I think its a small sacrifice, and just learn to ignore posts that you feel are offensive towards you, believe me you will be losing nothing by doing that.
Do what you like man !
