Subject: Getting Married to Girl with Student Visa..
My girlfriend is here in Toronto from Korea on a student Visa and has been living with me for about 4 months now.
We would like to get married but I don´t know the rules regarding this situation. I am a Canadian (born and raised) and would like more info on this. Thanks in Advance

Congratulations!!! Just plan for marriage. Collect all the proofs ( like photographs, letter from church etc.)and sponsor your spouse for immigration. It can take upto 1 year but mostly lesser than this.

Hi Doug.

Assuming your spouse-to-be doesn´t mind staying in Canada for the next 10 or 12 months, you can sponsor her from within the country. Conversely, you may also want to look at an "outside Canada" application, should she want to live abroad for the next while. To view the forms required for the former option, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/spouse.html. To view those of the latter, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/fc.html (don´t forget to include the visa office specific form(s), guide(s), etc.).

If interested, Crarer Law Office can provide you with all the support and advice you need for a very reasonable fee (i.e., around $500.00). Feel free to e-mail us at caul@crarerlaw.com, or phone 403.516.6123, for more info.
