Our K1 Visa petition was approved in 53 days. I am the Canadian fiance waiting to go be with my fiance in the States. Does anyone know how long I will wait for my interview in Canada??? Also, does anyone know where the interview will take place being from Calgary?

Hi Jamie,
I dont know the answers to your queries, but you can search the immigration.com forums. They have a special section for K visas.
BTW, Are you a canadain national? My fiance is a US citizen and I need to knwo whats better applying for Green card directly or going for a K1?
Kindly advice me about the procedure if I need to apply in Canada?

If you marry without the K1 visa there is definitely a chance that the you, the Canadian citizen, will be sent back to Canada and wait for the approval of a Spousal Visa which apparently takes much longer than the K1 visa. My K1 visa petition was approved in 53 days and I am now just waiting for the interview and I will be on my way to be with my fiance in the U.S. and we then have to get married within 90 days. I CAN´T WAIT! This has been very difficult but is all happening much faster than we originally though. We were told initially that it could take 6 months. So not the case!
