| Subject: Visa extension IM-1 Skilled worker class |

I have a valid immigrant visa(visa type IM-1) thru skilled worker class category which expires on dec 20 2005. Can I extend this visa?
Can anyone tell me, how long does it take for the Permanent Resident Card to come by mail after I enter Canada?
I´m currently in US on H-1B visa. Any feedback would be really helpful.

No the visa can not be extended. You will have to land in Canada before the visa expires.
After you enter Canada it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get the PR card.

If i have canada PR then I can fly anywhere in the world with ticket only ( in Gulf countries also).Or i must need valid visitor visa like that etc...

you would still need a visa. Residency is not the same as citizenship.

I was issued an IM-1 visa to canada with expiry of Dec. 20, 2010.
I arrived in Canada August 16, 2010 but have to go back home
after a week.
I was not able to apply for a PR card as I only stayed less than a month in canada and now with my visa expired and it´s June 2011 what do i need to do to go back to canada? What visa should I apply again at the canadian embassy?

MY FRIEND WAS GRANTED IM-1 VISA ON 21.09.2010 WHICH EXPIRED ON 17/05/2011.
BUT SHE COULD NOT TRAVEL TO CANADA DURING THE VALIDITY OF VISA
NOW SHE WANTS TO TRAVEL TO CANADA. HOW TO EXTEND THE VISA. WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED.

I have a client that hold a Tongan passport with visa type IM-1, Is it possible to travel one way with this visa or she must have a return tickets to his/her original country.
