Subject: New Buffalo general consul?
I just looked at the main site in Buffalo office, and there is a pciture of a different guy as consul general than a few weeks ago. Is he a new consul? If so, anyone knows if he is better or worse? Or it really doesn´t matter for us?

I dont think it makes a difference even if he is different. Our applications will continue to collect dust right up until the next federal election. When that time starts nearing I have an inkling that our applications will come off the shelves, and Immigration officers will spend less time dusting files, drinking tea and chatting each other up (as other forum posters have accurately depicted).

The Liberals have already started egging for more votes with their "new" proposal for more skilled workers. What about the skilled worker applications that are ALREADY in process? Work on them first - clear the backlog and then talk. It´s all just very disheartening.

Doesn´t matter at all. One man doesn´t dictate the policies.

It will be interesting to see if the change in Consul General will affect those of us who are applying through Buffalo.

I, for the record, have not lost faith in ALL politicians, or bureaucrats, as some here have suggested. I have personally worked with some at the local level. Yes, some are selfish and incompetant, and some others are idiots, but many mean well and believe in some idea of bettering society.

Anyway, the Consul General has a lot to deal with, not just our applications. Also, he (she) is also tied down with Federal laws and red-tape, so who knows what will change.

Maybe that is why not much has come out of Buffalo lately. Maybe an internal reorganization or something.
