I had a heart attack thirteen years ago. Reached hospital well in time and suffered only a minor scar and no loss of pumping capacity. Angiography revealed two blockages 90% and 80% (not main arteries). Doctor gave me a choice, medication or angiography if I wish. I chose medication (disprin, zocor) and a healthy life style. Had no problems ever since. I am 56. I wish to immigrate to Canada. Would I pass the medical test.

Dear a s Lamche,

Based in our experience I think you are going to be just fine. My husband (39 years old) had a heart attack almost three years ago. Main artery, 4 bypass. We are just waiting for the pp request. What I recomend you is to look for a good lawyer who will represent you, and always speak with the truth. What our lawyer did was to look for a canadian hospital and doctors who made a lot of heart test to my husband to demostrate to the CIC that even my husband went throu that ordeal, his heart is still in good shape, functioning ok and that he is not gonna be a economical borden to the health system in canada. He submitted those medical result along with letters from canadian hospitals sustantiating the application.
And by the way, my husband is american citizent living in USA.

I hope this will help you.
Good luck.

if it´s a spouse sponsorship under the new policy, the LICO requirement doesn´t need to be met, as well as the putting a strain on canada´s health care.

hope this helps,

Amanda

if this is a skilled worker application, I would be more concerned about your total points. your age has put you at a big disadvantage.

I agree with Sharon. Have you taken the self-assessment on the CIC site to determine if you´d theoretically obtain 67 points?

Thanks all for enlightening responses. My age negatives are off-set by education points and fewer points.
