Subject: Buffalo: Skilled worker - Is Quebec faster?
I was reading trough some older postings, and I found MANY timelines for Buffalo applicants. This helps a lot! What is not mentioned, as far as I can see, if the applicant chooses Quebec or a different region? I have heard rumors saying that it would be a lot faster that way if applying for Quebec.

Is that true? Are there successful Quebec immigrants that could share with me their timeline?

Thanks in advance

of course! It´s as fast as PNP.
80% of cases under CSQ was finished in 11month.

Buffalo has ability to finish PNP in 6 month,
CSQ 11 month,

however, they simply just slow down federal one in purpose.

Quebec selection is taking about 10 months for its portion of the selection process.(according to their website) You still must complete the rest of the immigration process at your home embassy. you must still tack on CIC´s processing time.

In some cases, I am not convinced it is faster.

Guzuty,

I guess you are talking about directly applying for Federal with your (anticipated) landing place in Canada as Quebec (Montreal or Quebec city). If that is your question, lot of my friends in Montreal who applied directly for Federal had had Montreal as their landing place, but still it didn´t make the process faster.

You can always apply directly for Federal with expected landing place as Quebec, but just one risk, but I am stressing it is not necessarily a risk, you might be asked whether you know French as you are applying for Quebec as your landing place, but note my point it is only my gamble-idea, nobody was asked this question. as per my knowledge, I wouldn´t want to risk.

If you are applying for CSQ (people say, Quebec immigration), you the process is very fast. But nowadays, lot of people in Quebec, mainly students, are applying for CSQ comparitively slower than the the people who applied a couple of years back for Quebec, it is definitely faster than directly applying for Federal, there is no doubt about that.

Couple of years back, people applying for CSQ, used to get appointment with Quebec CSQ office in 2 months, (3 years ago), but nowadays it is taking 4-6 months or more nowadays to get an appointment, I guess the number of applicants is increased and thats the reason for the delay.

It is just my points of view for your questions. If I am of any help to you, I is my pleasure to help you.

If you are in Montreal (or other places in Quebec already) best bet undoubtedly would be applying for CSQ. All my friends in Montreal do this. This is absoulutely faster than the processing time of (Direct) federal applicants.

Thanks for the Replies All.... (in reply to: Buffalo: Skilled worker - Is Quebec faster?)
I am living and working in USA for three years. Buffalo is my office now, since I´ve been living here for so long. I can still go trough the embassy in my home country, Romania, but it would be a hassle since I am not living here. My plan is to apply for Quebec immigration, even in if, eventually, I will move to a different region.
thanks.
