Subject: Police Clearance Certificate
  Hello,

I lived in the US from 1997-2005, entered on a student visa and had to take voluntary departure for my student visa overstay. I came back to India last month and I´m applying for the Permanent Residency.

Please let me know how I can avail the PCC now that I´m in India. Do I have to contact the Indian consulate in NY.

You can get the Indian PCC from the SP of your city or from the passport office.

You will also need to get the FBI clearance as you have lived in US. Please visit the following website for more information:
