Subject: In-Canada applicants...why the delay?
I dont understand why it takes longer for in-canada skilled worker applications. We´ve spent so much time here - working, studying paying taxes and contributing to the Canadian economy. We got here legally (most of us anyway) and yet it takes us much longer to get our PR when compared to US applicants who have not spent as much time in Canada as we have. I´ve been in Canada now for 6 years and I think it´s unfair that someone from the US can get his/her PR in a year but it takes me almost 2 years. No offense to you guys in the US, i bear no grudge to individual US applicants. I just dont understand the rationale in this.

Before I started the application process, I was always under the impression that it would be faster for us, but in fact it is the other way around. Does anyone else feel this way about the unfairness of the situation?

yeah, I have to agree that the process is going slow especially for canada applicants. But in general buffalo has slowed down issuing Intial assessements and passport requests lately. (see yogi799).

Before people got IA in 7-9 months, now its like 1 year. I personally know people in canada waiting for long for IA (1 year completed) and PPR ( many almost are close to their 1 year after medicals).

Yeah I don´t know why. I am a skill worker inside of Canada as well. Pay my tax every year, helping Canada economy, building up the adapability, etc, etc. That doesn´t seem to help a single little bit! We are still waiting.. in the same boat, or even longer!

(My 2 cents, no offence to any other applicants from any other countries.)
