whether to inform CIC about address change or not

Hi,
I am in Canada on WP since ~1yr and had applied for PR in Feb 05 at Buffalo office.I got my AOR in March 05 and had got a letter to appear for IELTS test in June. Last week(Aug 05) I sent them my IELTS result.

I have applied for WP extension, for 1 year, which I haven´t received yet and hopefully would be getting it soon.But I am going back to india in Oct.Now my question is:

1) Should I inform CIC,Buffalo about this ?..if yes, would it effect the processing time ?

2)Other option that come to my mind is :Use Canada post´s facility to redirect my all posts to my friend´s address and he can always let me know if I get any letter from CIC.

I am very confused right now and would appreciate if someone can please advice.
