Hi.

Re: 1 - Your passport and visa is recommended...

Re 2 - Most Canadian government offices are not open on Saturdays. That said, I believe you can download and print off the SIN application, and then mail it on the Saturday after your arrival.

Re 3 - The visa officers will ask for an address in Canada for you, but only so they can mail you your PR Card. If you do not have an address here, they will tell you how to forward them the info later, once it´s available. As for leaving the country, as a new PR, you are afforded most of the rights and obligations of all Canadians, as per the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (which is part of the nation´s written constitution) (note also that there are some differences between citizenship and permanent residency, but for the purposes of this dicsussion thrread, they do not matter here). Consequently, the "freedom of mobility" is guaranteed to you - ergot, you are free to leave Canada, anytime after landing. Of course, don´t forget about the 730 day rule... :)

Re: 4 - see my reply to http://www.canada-city.ca/canada-immigration/posting.php?messageid=8330

Re: 5 - Canadian Customs may have an issue or two regarding the rental car (if they even notice). I would contact the POE (port of entry) you are intending to cross, and speak directly with them about this. Remember to ask the person´s name, and document what was said (just in case there is a discrepancy, later).

Congratulations!
