Hi,
Following on from your thread a few days ago about the 2 out of 5 year rule.
I received my Permanent Residents Visa in December of last year. I went over to Canada to activate my visa in July of this year for 2 weeks, and then returned back to the UK. I was given a load of documentation at the airport, which I have completed and sent back (I think), including a Canadian address form.
Question: The PR card you talk about. Is that givn to you at the airport, or is it sent to your Canadian address? Or is the PR card the visa in your passport?
Just wanted to check before December so that I do not encounter the ´must enter the Canada within 12 months of issuing the visa´ problem.
Many thanks for your help.
Regards,
A

(in reply to: For Sumit and Greg - 2 out of 5 year rule.) Hi Andy,
PR card is mailed at your Canadian address. It is not the same as the visa on your passport.

(in reply to: For Sumit and Greg - 2 out of 5 year rule.) Thanks Sumit.
I thought that that might be the case. Do you know long it usually takes the the PR card to come through from when you entered the country (or sent off the form telling them your Canadian address)?
Thanks once again,
A
