Subject: NOC Confusion...Need your opinion...tnks
Hi...Yesterday I answered a post about NOC. Then suddenly after answering, the same confusion got to me. IT industry has a lot of job titles. The NOC codes are about the job titles. My questions:

1. Do you think, CIC considers your years of experience based on job titles or job responsibilites?

Why I ask: as a systems analyst, my responsibilities included analysis and programming as well.....as a project manager, my responsibilities included systems analysis, people management and occassional programming. So you see, different titles (from different companies) but common/related responsibilites.

2. Can you claim 2 NOC codes together? Example: Computer Programmer and Systems analyst have 2 different NOC codes. Can you claim both codes if your official job title is Programmer/Systems Analyst?

3. I have handled positions like: programmer; systems analyst; project manager; programming manager; team lead etc.....Do you think CIC will consider my total IT experience and grant me the maximum 21 points (I have 14 years in IT) and not focus on the job title itself?

Your inputs are very valuable. I have an interview in September and I just want to prepare how to justify my different positions. In my CAIPS, CIC did not put any points except my age. Thanks.
