Subject: Good Sign!---e-status - Part2
Hey Kelvin:
I think we have got very similar timeline. My medical will also be expiring in two more weeks. I hope we will not be punished by CIC for redoing our medicals.

Yes, it seems we have similar education, similat timeline, and we both yet looking for PP.
have you ever ordered CAIPS?
If so can you let me know how long it will take to receive it from the time you order it and in your case what was the problem?
Thanks

Wow, so many replies!

What I posted today just wants to give us a hope that CIC started to move forward after summer vacation!

Actually, change of e-status does not mean the sureness of PPR, but at least is a good sign for us.

For those who did medicals in September, I have the faith you will get PPR soon without the need of 2nd ones.

I ordered my 1st caips note on July 4 and haven´t received yet. Anyway, like you said, I will order another one in the end of next week just in case.

Good luck for every one!

Hi Calvin:

I ordered my caips in March and got it in April. It took exactly 30 days. There was absolutely no problem in my caips notes. The only thing left was the background check. My friends those who applied atleast 6 months after me are landed immigrants now !!!

I know about half a dozen of PhD students in our department who got their PPR between 3 to 7 months time after medicals. They are from India/Bangladesh/Nepal. For one Nepalese guy, the whole process was completed in about 10 months.

As far as I know, there is only one guy who applied about 4 months before me but is still waiting.

Kool,
It also depends on which year your friends applied. Most of them who applied in 2002 or 2003 got their PP requests 3-7 months after medicals. I also have a couple of labmates like that. But the case of people applying in 2004 seems to be pretty slow.
Which year did your friends who got PP request in 3-7 months after medicals, applied for PR??

By the way I forgot to congradualate Long-wait...
I heard from so many people in this forum that CIC has stated that BG check takes between 6-9 months. How come in our case it has already taken a year and yet nothing? and if this is the case how long we should wait?
For us who have been here for 3 or more years, it takes more than a person who applies from outside. The more I think about it the more I make sure that this is a scam!.

To LongWait: do not postpone, order your CAIPS now, if they won´t have any news, comparing to the last time- they will call you anyway (as they called to us)

To all: Concerning money problem: I can not apply for any NSERC fellowship, because I´m an interantional student (not a citizen or permanent resident), at the same time I can´t appy for fellowship for international students, because we already appied for the PR (and not eligible for many of the fellowships of this kind). My supervisor got really angry on this matter, but I don´t think, that anything can be done to clarify it. I believe you can tell me the similar stories, unfortunately. Another story that the law forbids the work out of campus for international students, that´s really strange (not to say- the idiotic idea). I´m getting angry...
Let´s keep in touch and post our thoughts and news. It might be helpfull not only for us, but will be usefull for some other people who read the posts on this forum. :))

Best regards,
hell

well after hearing it all, I agree to all of youll.
2002-2003 cases were processed quickly especially non interview cases. Even upto AOR April 2004 it was all quick, but then it was all slow.
my AOR july 2004 and waiting. got my caips; background checks are going on forever it looks like.
