Congrats buddy. I am sure you will receive your PPR soon. There is no change in my e-client status.

If I remember correctly, Kool, you are a PhD student. The tuition fee may be a matter. I am sure you will get PPR in September since there is no reason for you to take 2nd medical.

Let us hope the best!

To LongWait: That´s great! Congratulations!
Just checked mine, still: "We started processing your application on November 03, 2003".
Just in case order another CAIPS, even thought in less than a month you should get your PPR.

To everybody: my friend´s story:
They were in critical situation, waiting for the news from CIC (did medicals in Dec. 2004). Because of financial, work and visa problems they planed to go back to the home country. In april 2005 we all found out about the CAIPS and ordered it. In May CAIPS came and it was written there that PPR was issued in Feb. 2005. Quite clearly, they did not get it by regular mail. They sent passports after knowing of PPR throught the CAIPS and now they are landed immigrants. I can not imagine what would happen if they would not know about the CAIPs. That´s why suggest to everybody to order it from time to time. :))
Good luck to you all.

Hi Kool:
I really hope, that miracle happen this year, for you and for us. We´ll order the CAIPS tomorrow to see how is it going.
BTW, what´s your BFD? Our (husband- principal appl. and I) is 13.09.05, 3 days after the medical´s (MO1) expiration date. For you, as I remember, it´s even earlier.
I hope that neither of us will need to get the second medicals. What´s a point, we are insured anyway, :)
I´m not really sure that tuition fees matter, but I calculated that during all these years (3-5) of study my husband and I paid appr. 35-40 thousand $ as tuition fees and med. insurance. And in that sence I´m curious, is it not enough to get PPR at last? :))
How long is it for you? do you plan to graduate soon?

I should call it "the undetermined feelings".
From one point of view, i´m glad I´m not alone, from other - i wish something good (PPR in our case, :) ) would happen to as many people as possible. The good thing- we can see that something starts to change: LongWait´s e-client. It could meen (possibly) that CIC workers all together were on vacation, now they came back and hopefully will be working with doubled assiduity. :)
As I said- good luck to us all, and let´s be in contact.
At least, than I entered this forum I was in terrible mood,
depressed and so on... Now I feel much better, because I can share my thoughts on this matter (and the time line, of course, :) ) and you´ll understand me because all of us are in a similar situation.
Everything MUST get better in the fall, :)

Hi Hell:

My medical is expiring on Sept 02. My BFD is Oct 10, 2005, but that really does not matter as long as background checks are not over.

I was going at a rapid pace and is all set to defend my PhD thesis Jan/Feb 2006 (less than 3 and half years). But now I have to put a brake because of this stupid immigration stuff. FYI, my study permit will also be expiring on Sept 30, 2004.

Being a non-immigrant getting a job in this country is not easy. As an alternative solution, I have started looking for a job in the US and may have to leave (sadly though) this country upon my graduation.

PS: I am working on a strategically important project with a reputed Canadian company for my thesis research. Just wondering, who will be the looser?

Hi guys
It was another cold day in my E-client, as nothing changed for me (WHAT A STRANGE). I have completely lost my hole hope in this immigration process. Like Kool I was going to defend my thesis in January 2006 (exactly after 3 and half years), but with my situation I guess I have to wait until I get my PR.
Every thing in my case has a very slow pace. I order CAIPS on July 8th. I paid for Express mail with the hope that I might receive the result faster. Its been a month and seven days and yet I have not received it.
THe process is so unfair, that I can not imagine. My medical expires in less than 10 days. I loose the chance to apply for NSERC POSTDOC Fellowship and so many other things....
I dont think the government is so desprete that they want me to pay another tuition fee before I receive my immigration.
It sounds really unrealistic to me.
