As Samara, I´m having simillar problem: my husband, after 8 months not working in Canada he just file for a banckrupcy (+/- $25,000 in debit)and know he is thinking to go to Europe or USA to try to find a job. I´m still in my country wating for my process to be finished. My intention is to land in Canada and wait and see if he will come back to Canada or if I´ll join him in Europe or USA.

My question:

- If he leaves the country before my landing, how the Immigration will know that he is no longer leaving in Canada ?

- because of his debit, I´ll have problems with my credit ?

- My immigration counselor said that my husband can be anywhere in the world at the time I´m landing. The immigration does not care. Is it true...???

Thanks

Lee

immigration wont know where he is...

As for the credit problem, it will affect him and both of you as a couple, but your own personal credit will be fine as long as you manage to establish good credit and keep it in good standing.

When you land, they dont know where he is...i´ve seen people land and "sneak attack" their spouse cause immigration doesnt call to tell the sponsor that the spouse even got the visa.

Anny, he can not just go to the US to find a job. It does not work that way. If that were true, have the posters on this forum would not be here.

I am concerned that he could not find any work and you still want to come here. how will you support yourself? If he is claiming bankruptcy there may be problem completing your application.

what will you do for work?

sharon is right....TECHNICALLY you still have to be eligible to sponsor at the time of landing and if he declares bankruptcy before you land and immigration finds out about it, they could refuse the application based on the fact that you no longer have an eligible sponsor.
