I have a stupid answer: it depends how many those DVDs you have. If it´s 100 or so you better send it by mail...

Buy some CD books that hold 24...put them in your suitcases....... under seaters and clothes. Send some by mail. Split them up and it might help.

The good part that you´ll have a lot of work to do in Canada working on your DVD collection one more time;-)

I know people who have brought big collections from Europe. Be smart and spread them out. They will not likely search everything you bring. If they see 1000s of CDS/DVDs they get suspicious but people do have collections.
I would not worry about 80

without trying to cause a debate... I would suggest it depends on what your home country is, and whether you are happy to allow security to inspect the disks. when you start to think what could be on those items you can understand the anxiety. there may be copywrite hassles as well. I agree with Ranchunek. try to spread them out.
