Subject: spouse refusal of visa
HI I have been fighting to get a permanent visa for my husband who is in Morocco and we were refused because we didn´t have wedding pictures taken because we did not have the time to have a full marriage celebration due to authorities that had to be visited in order for us to marry. So my husband and I had decided to get married in Morocco and then have a reception and honeymoon in Canada once he got here with my family but because of the refusal I returned to Morocco with my mom for a visit and had our celebration and pictures as well as a short honeymoon and now I am still waiting for an appeals record to come to me so that i can appeal this very sad mistake - i love him and it soon will be 2 years married.
Can anyone help me out?

Did they ever call your husband for an interview?
Did you send pics about your honeymoon?
Or any other proof that you guys have been living together since you got married?

I am applying as sponsored family member as well through my wife , we had a very small wedding ceremony , and I sent only 3 pics of it , and couple pics of my honeymoon and a few pics when my mom met my wife?s family and more "events" than the actual wedding , and as far as I concern we didn?t have any problem , as a matter of fact my interview was waived and the only document that CIC was requesting was about a little gap that I left in my work history.

I expained in writing and now I am waiting for my background check done in order to receive my Passpor request.(I hope)

Cheers

I know this might sound odd at first glance but what might be the chances of your husband being approved as a skilled worker?

If the ultimate goal is for the two of you to be together, the waiting time and hassle involved in a spousal sponsorship my be far more involved than a clean SW application. Something to consider. If he has the points, and a clean medical and background check... your problem is solved.

My fiance is Tunisian so I can relate to your issued in a small way. Good luck.

Karen it appears like you speak French and they speak French in Morocco! Why not you move there and be with him? Just live and work there for a few years and slowly pursue his immigration while you are there with him! If you go to Can Embassy in Morocco, they might initially suspect you of entertaining wicked desires (it happened to a white woman who was hell-bent on bringing a moslem Egyptian; I think the embassy was beside itself making sense of the primitive social levels the woman degraded herself to fit into Egyptian society; that Canadian woman in Egypt is still there, waging her war and making babies), but eventually you and your man will get the visa. Morocco is a nice society, one of the few among the arab countries, that is liberal about housewives, at least during festive season, having additional lovers. In all other Arab places, it is the man who gets to have many wives and never the woman. In Morocco, when the woman is tired of the same damn husband month after month, she gets relief and permission to seek other lovers and quick lovescapes. Move to Morocco and enjoy what it got to offer.

Interesting, as one can get married over the phone and no photographs will be available for I am curious why the lack of photographs is a reason for denying your application, hummmm.

Did you include letters from your family and others who know you as a couple and other supporting document?

I am early in my application process; however I did not include wedding pictures as due to circumstances beyond out control we were not able to take any pictures. Like you I also plan on having a wedding ceremony in Canada and a celebration. Majority of my family is in Canada I would like all of them to be at the wedding and going back to our home country would be at least a $40K expense for the trip, the wedding and accommodations for my family.

I understand how difficult it is to live without the person you love around you everyday.

Have you contacted you Member of Parliament (MP) office for help. You can find your MP´s address and phone number at this website; http://www.parl.gc.ca/information/about/people/house/PostalCode.asp?Source=SM They might be able to offer some assistance.

Please keep us updated of you progress. You can also read other similar cases on the following website: http://www.immigration.ca/discussion/
On this website you should go to the option for family application and read, a believe the post are by ?Tachour? ? How much time after appeal? she seems to have a somewhat similar case to yours.

hi we didn´d have a honeymoon when we got married because of periods being on so i had my honeymoon when i went back to Morocco in April. I tried my member of parliament and got the brush off. he had his interview with a nasty lady in Morocco and she denied the visa because we didn´t have the wedding pics. See my mom went with me for the first trip and to be at the wedding ceremony but that didn´t help at all.
