I have a long term residence in a (European country), this kind of visa valid for only one year .It is possible to renew it if I show a Financial evidence to support myself and my family and if a citizen in that country provided me with a shelter (flat , house ,or etc.) If not I will find myself along with my family on the borders or we will be forced to return back to my home land which it is impossible for me to return back to .
Dose this kind of visa intersect with claiming refugee statues in Canada?
Do you think it?s the same of the third safe country or it will be different?
knowing that I haven?t ever asked for this before in any country.
Is it possible in this case to go to Canadian embassy in that country to ask for asylum?
Please try to help.

if you are away from your home country, and are in a country where you are considered ´safe´ from persecution or danger... Canada will not accept a refugee claim.
there is problems already with refugees coming from Columbia through the US. Canada is saying no because the US is considered a safe country. The only problem is that the US is denying them asylum and sending them back to Columbia.

Colombia you ment , but if they can proof that the U.S is deporting them back to Colombia , they might be still elegible to claim a refugee status in Canada.

I think it would your best option to apply with the Canadian Embassy in that country. The third safe does not apply in your case. Its only with USA.
