Hi
I have seen such postings innumerable times in variuos forums under different names and subjects but it all boils down to one thing that Canada sucks.
Comeon give it a break. It really gives a heartache to all the prospective immigrants and discourages them. But if this is the mission for such postings forget it you are not going to succeed because even after reading such postings nobody has ever said that they are not going to apply for immigrants. Infact it has worked in reverse in the sense that people become more resolute and develop the skills to succeed in such a scenario.
Okay coming to racism, discrimination etc.. etc.. as along as humans live this is not going to vanish overnight. Every body who ever lives any where in the world have u not faced these things in your country of birth. Please give me a honest reply.
I am an engineer from a reputed institute in India and after graduation I thought companies will be waiting to recruit me but the truth was something different. I have to struggle to get a job initially. I took up a teaching job by foregoing my one month salary as deposit even though I had degree in electronics engineering from a reputed engineering institution.
After taking up the job I kept trying and finally landed in a govt organisation which for any Indian is a dream job and I thought that I am finally settled in my life. But even after putting in morethan 10years of service I still did not get even a sinlge promotion from the date of joining. People with less qualificaion have got their promotions. What u call this racism, discrimination etc.,? in ur own country. Even my boss sympathises with me but he cant do anything. That´s the way the system works.
I got a job in gulf and I moved over there. I was there for 4 years in a country which I seen only on the map. In 4 years I got 4 promotions and my salary was increased 3/4 times than what I joined for. What u call this? Now they are not willing to leave me even though I got my papers ready for immigrating to canada.
The day I land in Canada I am back to square one from where I started my career but I do have the confidence that I will do well.
If you know ur past u will know ur future so I hope do well in Canada.
I got to thank Canada for giving me an opportunity and it is upto me how to use it.
This talk about racism discrimination is all but scrap.

you know what? When I was a pizza driver,(I am an Asian) sometimes I made way more tips than white people!!!
Candaian have way less rasicim than lots of people in the world

I am sure u must be a keralite. Like all other keralites (most of them) you will do any menial / dirty job in gulf countries to make money. It makes us look downtrodden people. So I am not surprised that you are back to square one in Canada. You will accept any job in Canada as long as you can show off in front of your relatives that you are in a western country.

I´m a UK citizen living in Canada. England has crappy weather, but I´ll tell you something. I´ve travelled a lot, and England is the least racist country I´ve ever lived in. They just don´t tolerate racism. They are so afraid of being accused of racism, that most places employ a positive discrimination policy, that is, they actively recruit black and asian people.
A boy of 6 was recently hauled before the courts for calling his friend a "paki" - he probably doesn´t even know what the word means. And his friend had recently called him white trash before anyway, and escaped prosecution.
Should you ever be denied promotion because of your race, you will win hundreds of thousands of pounds in a tribunal, it happens almost every day in England. There are problems with racism in inner city areas, but England is truly a multi-cultural country, and it´s only now that I´ve left it that I can appreciate how great it is!
England, you rule! (If you could only chuck out the chavs!)
