Information Technology (in reply to: IT Jobs in Canada?)
Information Technology jobs are little overloaded lately. I know many new after school friends who can not find job that easy. However, they can easily adjust to a similar field as today many other non IT jobs require IT knowledge.

Good luck

ano...please just go away. rarely do you have anything useful to say. More often than not you are simply rude to people.

while generic IT jobs might be overloaded, there is still endless articles in the business sections of the newspaper saying there are shortages. Business in Vancouver says ´Temperature rising in software job market- a skill shortage emerging again´ I think areas of expertise within the industry is important to job hunting success. Companies like Electronic Arts, McDonal Dettwieler, those in the biomedical fields etc. try www.asttbc.org

I was talking to a good friend of mine and he was telling me that there has been a financial and industry shift from Toronto to B.C.

depends on the sector. Calgary, Alberta has seen big gains in corporate head office relocation.

IT jobs in Canada (in reply to: IT Jobs in Canada?)
Dear friends,

It seems people on this forum have misunderstood what I have been asking in my previous post.
I have no intention of discouraging those who want to immigrate to Canada as skilled workers.
What I am asking is a plain simple question "is it true that skilled immigrants, fluent in English language have to do unskilled minimum wage jobs in Canada due to lack of opportunities??"
Please check out the websites mentioned below. I could not believe what I read. Personally , I do not feel that the Canadian government is doing this deliberately. It seems all this happens due to lack of suitable job positions . Hence , I wanted others in this forum to give me the correct information about the job scenario for skilled immigrants.

Why on earth would an engineer with say 10 years experience work as a taxi driver just because he immigrated to a developed western country like Canada ?
