Subject: Kenny: could you please read it?
  Hello Kenny,
you put this link in another thread:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/05-fc-spouses.html
Could you please exaplain what these % mean in there? 30% + 50% + 70% + 80% don?t equal 100%. How do you read it? I assume that the digits in the cells are months. But the rest....

Many thanks for your help.

for example 30% per cent of all applications are processed in 12 months, 50% percent of applications received are processed in 18 months etc. 80% in 37 months. so the bulk of us take much longer

Hi Karen,
well, all applications put together are 100%, correct?
Then 30% + 50% + 70% + 80% would have to be 100%. But isn´t.
So, it has to be something else.
For example: if there are 30% done in 12 months, how can there still be 80% left to be processed in 37 months? and also there is the 20% and 70% too. Doesn´t match up. So, im trying to see what these percentage mean, surely not applications received.... see my point? :-)

Following is the information for the London office for the Family Class: Spouses and Partners category between April 2004 to March 2005.

30 % in 4 months
50 % in 6 months
70 % in 8 months
80% in 9 months

Here the 50% mentioned is not additional 50%. It mean that starting from April 2004 they were able to complete 50% of the total cases within 6 months. So here the 50% includes the the earlier 30% cases. I hope I am making it clear.

Main idea is to give you a general idea as to how much time it takes.

Hey C25: I think the numbers are cumulative. Like by 12 months, 30% have been completed; by 18 months a total of 50% have been completed, then by 37 months (or whatever), a total of 80% have been completed, leaving 20% still unfinished. So you shouldn´t add the numbers together. Plus it´s just such a rough estimation; who knows the various factors that go into it all. At any rate, we have a while to wait! I hope that helps.....

There is still an extra 20% of cases that could take longer than 9 months or shorter than 4 months.

Example

Warsaw Embassy (where my wife´s application was processed)

30% 5 months
50% 6 months
70% 7 months
80% 8 months

Based on these figures, 80% of all applications should be processed in 8 months....there is still 20% of applications not here...´

We were expecting minimum 5 months but hers was processed in 2 months....we fell in the 20% that are not accounted for...they leave room for straight forward applications and for applications that have some trouble involved.

I hope everything will work out!

Rachunek
(in reply to: Kenny: could you please read it?)
no Rachunek, you application would be picked up in the 30% statistic. What is says is that at the end of 8 months there is still 20% of cases outstanding for some reason or the other. delays caused by missing documents, background checks - whatever.

Thanks Sharon
Not that these numbers mean anything..... some applications are processed very quickly and some not. It all depends on the officers, the time of year and some on luck.
It seems Sharon your luck has not been good but things will happen. Be patient and keep your mind on something else.
Good luck to you all.
