Subject: Visa stamping at interview
  Hi,

What do you guys think are the odds that I will get the visa stamped on the same day as the interview? Since I am going for an interview, if I can get the visa stamped right there, that would be the ideal scenario for me.

Assuming all the documents are in place, is there any reason that visa will not be stamped? I have my interview in the morning, so even if there is half a day´s delay to stamp the visa, I am comfortable with that.

Those who had their interview - I´d be very curious to know about your experience!

Thanks,

KG

not sure you are being realistic. if you are applying as a skilled worker, your interview is to clarify information in your application. don´t you still have to do your medicals, pay your ROLF and have your background check done?

in a sponsorship case, the situation might be different. I cannot speak to that scenario.

hi...not to raise hopes or anything....I read in a different forum that this scenario happened to one guy....this guy chose to do medicals even before knowing the interview date...he paid everything beforehand...so that´s what he said....anything is possible...but is it likely?

You can get the visa on the day of your interview

IF your medical result is available,
IF you have paid all the fee,
IF you have updated PCC & FBI clearance (If required by immigration official),
IF you have proof of funds,
IF your background and security check is complete, and
IF you clear the interview :)

Thanks for the response.

Medicals are done two months before the interview date
Fee have been paid
Will be carrying the PCC with me for the interview
Have proof of funds
Nor sure of I will have BG check. I have not been in Canada before.
Hope to clear the interview.

Now what do you think the odds are :-)

Every applicant has to go through the background and security check. It does not matter if you have been to Canada or not.

It generally takes 2 to 3 months to get the medical results. Make sure that you mention during the interview that you have already done your medical 2 months back.

Kenny,

Exactly who does the back ground check ? I would assume it would be done by some law enforcement agencies - FBI, RCMP etc. Is that true?

In my case, the only country I have been to is US(outside my home country). And I will be carrying the FBI clearance along with me. So is there a need for another BG check?

Anonymous,
Your experience gives me hope :-) How did my manage to get thru the BG check in time for the interview? Can you pl tell us what you did that took care of the BG check by the time you had your interview?

Thanks,

KG
