Subject: job situations in Canada
What is the REAL job situation in Canada, specifically Toronto? Please let me know by levels of education and career tracks. For example, need a B.S. degree, other?

I have heard negative things for people who do not have US, British, or Canadian bachelor´s degrees.

Your situation depends on many factors. You might get employment where many others failed. How to find out? You just got to complete all CIC processes, move to Toronto or wherever else your sweet mind desires and check out..

I am asking in general...for example, what is the unemployment rate there? In the U.S., the average unemployment rate is 5%. What is it in Canada?

Also, what professions are considered ´hot´? Would someone with a b.s. degree from an Asian country only be able to work as a cab driver or delivering pizza or are there more opportunities?

Hello all!

I´m curious as well. I´ve looked through a number of online job search engines and periodicals and the market looks promising for someone in my field (IT). I´ve heard different things such as the need for "Canadian experience"....I´m not sure what exactly that means. Anyway, curious to know what it´s like for immigrants trying to get employed.

I´m a US citizen applying as a skilled worker.
