  HELLO SHARON

I just received letter from buffalo stated the material you provided as proof of your language ability in English does not support the level of proficiency indicated on your application. Consequently, you are given the opportunity to undergo and submit the results of third party language test from a designated organization. Also they added with out the language test result, an assessment of your language proficiency will be made based on the information you have provided. This could result in fewer points being awarded for language ability, which will influence your overall assessment as a skilled worker

The State where I am living in US don?t have the test center and I can?t get even single day off from my work to go out and take a test. I have BS and MBA (Two majors) from US University why they need IELTS? What happens if I couldn?t submit the test result?

Here is my detail: - Now I have 73 points in total, I have claimed 16 points from language. What should I do? Please advise me, it will be more then appreciated.

I have to work Monday through Saturday. Secondly I may need to make two appointments for the test as I understood from IELTS web site. One appointment for written and another for interview (oral part). I do not have time to prepare and not even have time to fly out of that state for next 4,5 months. According to letter I have 120 days to submit.

If I write a letter to buffalo about my situation is there any chance for consideration. Is there any one has any experience on this that you know about? I will genuinely count and appreciate each response from you folks.

you have some choices. can you live with less points? From your own assessment you can. 4 less is OK... 6-8 less would be a problem. How comfortable are you taking the chance? I guess that is the question. If IELTs are a pragmatic problem, I would be inclined to make sure you have documented why you are proficient in all aspects of the language, include an explanation why you cannot take the exam and see what happens.

could you please share your timeline, don´t forget that you can take CEIPLP test too, however, it might only benfit for those people live in Canada, since they don´t have a lot of test centre either

SAATHI,

First of all, Personal circumstances such as this may not have any effect on CICs decision making process. If they have asked you to take this exam, you will have to.
Since you have 57 points without including Language, you need 10 more points.
At this time, you have 2 options
1) Take the test and submit the results as a conclusive proof of your Language abilities OR
2) Send as much supporting Documentation as you can to prove your language skills - BUT , Leave it to the Visa officer to decide if he/she wants to give you 10 or more points.

Thank you all for your kind Response

Sharon If I send them enough supporting Documents to prove my language ability and my current situation is it possible from them to be rejected without further notice or they will defiantly communicate with me. What do you think?

Time line- Application Jan 05/ AOR Mar 05/ IELTS request July 05

My god ur timeline is shocking to me...ridiculous as CIC is always is....My timeline is I applied Oct 2004, AOR Feb 2005 and not even heard from them ....idiots..and also I voluntarily took IELTS without them asking me and sent in the results 2 months ago...its been over 9 months no IA, no letter nothing...I dont know how the hell they are sending IELTS requests to people with AOR in March 2005 while people like me who applied ages ago in October 2004 have no progress...but anyways Im not jealous of your stage...lol..just angry on CIC..I sure would advise you to take IELTS..if ure interested in qualifying for PR..else..CIC is ruthless...

Hi Saathi,

I appeared in IELTS in Chicago and I did not have to make 2 appointments. The speaking test is on the same day after completing the listening, reading and writing sections.

They have already given you 4 months to provide the results. You can even request for more time. If you do not provide the IELTS score I am afraid that your application may be rejected.

Choice is yours!

I even don't know (in reply to: "IELTS" HELLO SHARON)
I even don´t know what I suppose to do, Askin myself my questions? what?s the hell these people think about our education and their language? As far I know It?s parity much same as American language. First thing we have to have certain degree of language knowledge or English to get admission for Graduate school in US.

You know what? I am going to give up this bullshit. My wife has Medical degree I have MBA. If they don?t need us then that?s okay, we don?t need them either. We are not going to loose, they will. Let them get more illegal people with -0 english knowlwdge. I hope my processing fee will help them to dissolve snow in winter.

Hey Anonymous..

How did u do in IELTS? I have same time line as yours. I really don´t believe on what time line the other dude has posted. If he is right on that time line.. then I can start assuming that I´m not into this immigration process. I better move forward with what I´m now.

I am also planning to take that IELTS. But I won´t take it until nov coz I don´t belive that I would hear anything from them until end of sept. I would be lucky to hear something by august. Don´t you panic.. u should be ok.

thankx

Saathi... obviously, CIC has had some bad experiences with language proficiency and has removed any subjective consideration (and potential bribery) by CIC officers. For most, that is good news.

Guarantee your points or trust the officer to assign you what they think is appropriate based on what you have submitted. don´t be pissed off... they have offered you the option. It´s your life- not theirs.

as for those of you that insist on comparing timelines - anything less than what is posted on the website should be greeted with sheer joy. 236-90... you have no idea of what the officer is required to do with each file, how the applications were prepared differently, what is the applicants home country, how complete supporting documents were. You will go crazy if you insist on thinking you are being ill-treated because someone´s application is moving more quickly than yours.

frustrated (in reply to: "IELTS" HELLO SHARON)
Sharon, I do agree with you and I do appreciate you very much. I am just frustrated because after spending 9 years in American school, and after achieving couples of degree BS, MBA and have worked here almost the same amount of time in English environment, still people do not believe us and ask us the pre requirement test result (language test result)which is required to join the school here in US.
