Subject: PP request - what is endorsement
My parents got PP request from delhi. The document says something like this,

"Original Passports for you and your accompanying dependants. Please note that your surname must be endorsed on your passport. The names kaur and singh do not qualify for the purpose of immigration to Canada"

What do they mean by saying endorsed? How much time will it take to get their passports back from the date they send their passports?

Thanks.

Are you a Sikh? If not then dont worry... For Sikhs they usually use Singh or Kaur as their surname where as the CIC does not accept Singh or Kaur as the surname.

If you are not a Sikh then dont worry.. generally a person´s name in India is <> <> <> For a Sikh it is <> <>

Hey... can you post the time line.

About endorsement...that mean the lastname should be specified in the passport.

I am not a sikh, so i guess i will not worry about endorsement and also the last name is specified in the passport.

Thanks for replying.
