Subject: Help - CAIPS notes
Hi all, I finally received my CAIPS notes, and the explaination was that they were having problems with my background search. On further investigation of my CAIPS, I realized that they mis-matched my education with my wife´s. I am the primary applicant, but I inclded my wife´s credentials (including education credentials) in the application. My CAIPS note stated my correct degree from Texas, but used my wife´s university and graduation date (in Pennsylvania). Why in the world could they make such stupid mistake, when I included my degree certificate in the application? Now, please someone inform me what steps to take to correct this, because the background check will NEVER pass if nothing is done...I did not attend school in pennsylvania! here´s my timeline:

May 2004 received my application at CIC
Dec 2004 received interview waiver, medicals and RPRF requested
Dec 2004 medicals performed
Feb 2005 requested additional docs
Mar 2004 sent addicional docs

haven´t heard anything else from CIC. Ordered CIAPS which just came in. Should I send them an explaination, along with how I knew what the issue (the CAIPS) was? What should I do? Please someone help! Thanks VERY MUCH!!!!

Hi there,
I think you must send them a Fax or Email or a registered letter where you explain everything and do tell them that you this infos through your caipsnotes issued by CIC Ottawa.
in my oppinion it is better for you to act quickly so you would gain some extra time.

yours

Thanks for your info. I am writing them right away to inform of the error. Also sending a fax. I think it´s better I did something than to regret it later. It is clrealy an error on their part.
