Hi ,
I have submiteed the immigiration case (canadian embassy-islamabad) for my parents and siblings, its being 2 years now and i/they have´nt heard anything from the embassy except the first letter of acknowledgement.
could you please tell that can i write them a letter/fax to enquire whats going on and how must time it requires more ? and ask them to please make the process fast ? will my letter work ??? and or will pull up my file after getting the letter or fax ? i live in canada. need your advice, what should i do and how .. that does´nt pissed them off and they process the file as soon as they can. your valuabe suggestion/advice will be appreciated.

I believe by telling them to process faster, you are giving them the idea that you think they are not working as fast as they could be. Whether you are right or wrong, you will not get them to spead up your application by asking them to. At least, I don´t think it will.
The CIC also lists, as a common reason for applications to be delayed, is by making un-necessary inqueries to the embassy. They are more or less saying, that if you bother them too much, you application will be slowed down. Good or bad, they are giving you a pretty good hint here.

Thanks for your advice/suggestion dave, the reason why I was thinking to find out about the file and its status, that I;ve been waiting since last 2 years, and I have´nt made a single enquiry about the status. some people told me, If you send them a fax and "request" to please issue the medical or interview just because you are missing your family so much and you them to be here asap ... will it work ? or still they´re gonna be like "we dont care" ... ?
is there a chance that file might be in back log or not poping up and my fax or letter may help it to come out on the table ... ?

In short, if you write a letter to speed up, the CIC will not speed up...
If this was the case... everyone would be writing letters to speed up... and then you would have write another letter to speed up the already "speeded" process and so would everyone else and then you have to write another letter to speed up the already "speeded-speeded" and so would everyone else do... and so on and so on.....
So in short its wont work...
You can inquire the status after a certain no. of months after application.. I think its 52 weeks so you may inquire the status...
To be very honest applications for parents and siblings are right now at the lowest priority for Canada. So basically its a long waiting period...
You may want to order the CAIPS notes I think its like $5 or so so you can have an idea whats going on... but anyways I wont be hopeful on that...

Hi HS, thanks for your time .... please let me know if CAIPS notes can make some good effect or not ... also tell me if the embassy will have the information that i´ve applied for CAIPS notes to check the status of file in detail ? all togahter .. is it ok or not ok to go for CAIPS notes and what would be good or bad after effects on the file and processing ? thanks

I think CAIPS is only good for you to check the status. I doubt you will ever be able to "speed up" the process. You are in a line of literally thousands of people, and you will have to wait your turn.
I know it is heartbreaking (I am in a similar spot) but you just have to wait.... and wait... and wait some more.

i am married to canadian national person
he filled my case for canada
and application processing is finished from candna and application has been trasfer to pakistan and my husband is coming to take me to canada.
he said i will come and will say to embassy i have come to take her with me to candna then what will they do will they call me for interview.or will say to wait.
and i want to go with her inside when they take interview from my wife will they allow me.
my cousin did all thati asked you and embassy called him for interview and both of them go togather to the interviewer advice me please

sir i want to know that how much time it will take to process my student visa application as i have submitted my application in canadian high commission islamabad on 11th of june 2008. my classes are going to be started on 3rd of september 2008.
i have not revieved any kind of reply from embassy office as i have submitted my application.neither i have been called for interview nor has been called for medical test..
plz tell me how much time it will take to process my application and also tell me that wether interview and medical test is necessary?
