my wife sponsered me i have an application in for PR can i apply for a temporary work permit mean while?

Unfortunatly you will have to wait till your PR is taken care off... you cant have two applications running there... But the better thing is that you apply for jobs and keep yourself ready. Once you immigrate to Canada you can start work soon. And oh yeah... start paying heavy taxes.
Today being Canada Day I just feel like saying EH! once more time... eh!

Well you can get a work permit while your PR application is in progress. I know many who did it. First find work and then apply for work permit. If you have probs applying for work permit, hire an attorney.
