Hello Harshal,
I read your previous post about international students fee wherein u hv said that in case one submits the AOR, the status can be changed from "international to local".
We have applied for a PR and r currently in India. I am keen on joining a course in a Canadian univ but the only block is the exorbitant fee. So, can I also make use of this "loophole". Cud u pls. also let me know some of the colleges where this is possible ?

I studied at York University in Canada.
I had no problems there...
I went to the Registrar office and I gave them a copy of my AOR and told them that my application is in process... They right away started processing and I started paying the local students fees..
This is true for most of the universities...
Try finding like "change of fee status for international students" in the university´s website.
I am a bit doubtful for the private colleges. I know this policy holds true for universities...

Changing My Fee Assessment from International to Domestic
=========================================================
If your status in Canada changes, for example you apply to become a permanent resident in Canada, your fee category could change. The complete list of the exemptions is available in the Undergraduate Calendar. You will need to bring your supporting documents to Student Clilent Serivces or contact that office for further information. To change your fee assessment for the current year you must bring your documents to Student Client Services before October 31, 2003. You can still make a change for only the Winter 2004 Term if you bring your documents in before January 31, 2004.
These dates are set by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and cannot be changed or extended. If you bring in your documents after these dates, your status can only be changed for the next upcoming session.
