Subject: PP request? not heard anything
  Hello all,
here´s my timeline:

Apr 2004 sent in application (including FBI clearance)
May 2004 received acknowledgement of receipt, it said my case started processing May 20, 2004
Dec 2004 received letter saying interview is waved, asking for medicals to be taken, RPRF to be paid, and current bank statement and current employment letter re-submitted
Dec 29 2004 took medicals
Jan 2005 sent in current bank statement, current employment letter, and paid the RPRF fees.
Feb 2005 received another letter saying fees schedule had changed, requesting the additional amount.
Feb 2005 sent immediately the additional amount. (fees changed from $875 to $915 or something like that, back in dec 2004. I didn´t know this. Moreover, when they asked me to send in my RPRF, they attached a sheet with the old fees schedule!).

that was the last I heard from CIC. I haven´t anything since then. I check e-status everyday, it hasn´t changed. Still shows "in-process". I called the clinic where i took medicals, they said they sent medical results on Jan 11, 2005. Why doesn´t e-status show that they received medicals? I ordered CAIPS a few weeks ago, still waiting on that. Don´t know what to do. I thought all would have been complete by now. I work for a company in the US that has a branch in Vancouver, and i have been there for business once, and that´s where i am planning on transferring to. What should i do? I haven´t sent any requests for status update to buffalo yet. i have been in the US since I turned 18, so all my adult records are form here in the US. I´m applying under skilled worker. My wife and I are both engineers, and have all our schooling form the US. Please advice.

you should be able to receive your pp request 3 months after you sent in your last step document. the only reason you don´t receive it is because they may undertake background check on you and it would take up to 6-9 months to finish. i am also waiting for my pp request. my application was Jan, 2004, skilled worker, i sent in my last step docs in december and is still waiting for my pp request because background check was undertaken. be patient. do what you should do. just keep an eye on your mailbox.

ok, thanks. what if i move? I am moving in a month. and, do they do background check on every applicant? what is background check anyways, i mean what kinds of things are what authorities are involved? i would assume everything here in the US should be fast. thanks for your response anyway.
