Hi guys,
I have completed 2 years and 6 months of my bachelors in US and I have 2 year associate degree and completed high school too but one lawyer when I call him for some info he keeps telling me you will only get 5 points for education and he says 2 years university degree in US is equivalent to high school in Canada. I was wondering why is he giving me wrong information. I have seen on CIC website that 2 year college degree gives 20 points. I almost have 2 year full time job experience which counts in NOC list. ( professional secretary for 1 year and 6 months-full time paid-40-45 hr/wk) and currently working as computer assistant in US since last 1 year part-time (20hr/wk). I will be giving french and IELTS exam and have spouse with same qualifications like me. My age is 21 and I have also arranged for funds and my friends are arranging for employment but this lawyer gave me this wierd info twice. I even told him I have seen on CIC website but he gives me his own answer. About my full time job. According to CIC website I can use that as experience because all the employment requirements and duties match my job and I also have job contract and reference letter. So dunno if I will be rejected if I apply now. I wanted to move to canada and work and then complete masters there but now I am not exactly worried but confused. I have my IELTS in august and will be applying in september but If what lawyer said is true then I might think bout applying. All the best to everyone and Prayers from me. Congrats to all those who got it.
