you are going to have to tell me what you think is affordable. Vancouver has a reputation for being expensive - just like Toronto. Some neighbourhoods are less expensive than others but there are trade offs you must make- like access to transit.

Hi! I really appreciate the quick response.I am sorry i did not mention much in the earlier posting.Well, i am relocating from USA and would like to settle down in Vancouver.I have got a job in Downtown Vancouver and would like a single bedroon apartment for around $500 to $600 give or take $50.I have transportation, therefore 20-30min drive would not be a problem.

Thanks in advance

rentals in the downtown core are significantly more than $5-600. More like $1,100. In fact, I am not sure what you can find in your price range and a 30 minute commute unless you could find a basement suite. have a look at this website. http://www.places4rent.com/finder.asp?LOCID=259. often people share places in the downtown.

you´re gonna have to live far away from downtown if you wanna pay just 500 0r 600 bucks, may be surrey then you can take the sky train and be at work in 30 min, rent in downtown is extremely expensive, other option is to split the rent with a room mate that way probaly your rent will go down.

Good Luck
