I am of the opinion that you should never send your copy of the score to the requestor (CIC or whoever it may be)

But I have seen some responses in the past where people have either sent their copy to CIC OR some people have adviced others to send their own copy examples are as follows from a different thread....

---------------- These are excerpts from other postings---------------------
I believe you can request the test center to send one original with your file number to CIC. In your reply with other documents you can send a notorized copy to CIC.
However,I came to know about this option late so I sent original score.

Why asking the IELTS test center to send your scores to CIC!!. The correct way is to have your original copy from the IELTS test center and send it yourself as an ORIGINAL copy to CIC. You can send notorized copy but cut it short and send original because sometimes they ask for original but at later stage which might delay your process.
Good Luck

The Buffalo Application Checklist clearly mentions that we need to send the Original Score sheet.

Original IELTS test score is required by immigration officials.

When filling the application form you can send your score free of charge to 5 places. You can fill in the details of the Canadian embassy here. But if you want to first see if you did well in IELTS before sending your score you have the option of requesting the test center where you appeared in IELTS to send your score to the Canadian embassy. In US they charge $10. Read the following information from the ELS Language Centers Chicago website.

IELTS Test Results:
Candidates will receive ONE copy of the Test Report Form. Additional copies may be obtained for $10
per Form. We will also send Test Report Forms to up to 5 institutions/agencies as you request on the
application form.

May be ask for a duplicate copy from the IELTS so that you ahve two original copies... one for you adn one for the CIC...

But CIC is very forgiving and a notorized coy is just fine

I sent only a photo copy, non-notarized, and it went fine. There is little that you can manipulate with the sores/score sheet.

I think HS AND HC are correct two originals is the best option for you. The thing is that its better, from my point of you, to send one of the original copies YOURSELF along with the application to CIC, rather than waiting for them to ask you for iIELTS scores, then AGAIN asking IELTS center to send an original copy along with the file number..headache..+ maybe and im saying maybe "CIC will put in on hold even after you receive AOR for like 3-4 months then ask you for IELTS score origirnals".. be ready from the very begining.
GoodLuck.
