I did also give my perspective and some suggestions for you in a positive way. But if you really want to justify what you complain is true, then iam up for it.Infact in your previous post you gave 5 or 6 pessimistic views and 1 or 2 positive points to stay here in canada. My point is then why did u choose to migrate if u feel so pessimistic about the country. OK here are some of my answers to your few quotes .

your quote: Last time I checked, engineering was a universal science, thank you for the information that Canada has its own version of engineering.

my reply: Everybody knows that engineering is a universal science. But most people are under the assumption, that if one has ph.d from US then it is universally valid and the other countries to accept that. Thats unfair. Each country functions in different way.Thats all iam trying to drive home the point.

your quote: I agree that every place has its own set of problems, however just contending that it is OK to have problems is really pathetic. This attitude is exactly the reason why problems in Canada take longer time to be solved.
My reply; True. It takes longer to solve. So what. The quality of life in canada is much better when compared to your country or for that matter compared to US provided you get a job which takes time.

Quote:If that was not the case Canada would have had real hard time fulfilling its yearly quota of immigrants.
My reply: This is an unfair comment. So what if people does not migrate from US. We get so much people from asia in canada that it can easily satisfy its yearly requirements. You should look at CIC website to see from which places people migrate. From china its about 20,000-30,000 per year compared to US.
And look at this scenario. Almost 90% of people who apply for immigration from USA to canada, do it ony as back up. What all these guys do is land up in canada and then leave to US the next day and stay there for 3 more years to see whether any decision has been made on their green card. Except few like you who is genuinely interested in moving to canada.
I would go on to say that canada should change its immigration rules and say that the landed immigrants should stay in canada for atleast one year continuously after they land and can be there out of country only 2 out of 5 years overall.
Let all these fake people who just apply for immigratin to canada as back up make a call whether they want to stay in canada or struggle there and suffer in US. We might loose 5000 people out of 6000 from US, but these people are anyways contributing zero percent for canadian economy by continuing to work in US and later abandoning canada once they get their green card.
We need people who are interested in canada genuinely and not the ones who use it as back up to stay permanently in US.
Iam sorry for any misunderstanding my post have created, but having stayed in last 4 years in canada, here are my positive points of canada.
1. central healthcare system. Even a poor can afford healthcare.
2. Cost of education. very cheap compared to US and most of kids can even afford till graduate level.
3. No racism. I have never seen racism here totally. I have been there in US and have seen people looking at you differently as soon as they know you are a foreigner and a sense of arrogance creeps in them.
4.Low crime rates. I have walked on downtown roads in toronto at 2.a.m number of times and its so safe.
5. Tolerance towards other cultures and religion. You can practice whatever you want and they respect you for who you are. There are hardly any hate crimes.
6. Job security. Atleast if you are in academics they do not fire you immediately if u do not have funding. The department will try to support your research till you get money (for tenured professors) even if it takes time.
7. Working hours: people work only 8 hours and in a reasonably relaxed manner. There is not too much stress in job like US.In some companies people work for only 7 hours but still get paid for 8 hours.
Negative points:
1. Getting a job is difficult. But once you get it, its should be pretty much good life after that.
2. Pay is slightly lower compared to US and taxes are more , but that amount goes for centralized healthcare anyways.
Apart from this i do not see anything negative in canada. It depends on which things are important for the person in canada. IF the 2 factors above are very important then its better to stay in US. If the 7 points which i mentioned are important then its better to stay in canada.
Hope this helps.

There is no need to justify anything to some lowlife, whether he is Indian or Chinese. These folks never had nor ever will have a conscience or dignity. Let em play if they can. I would recommend CIC to give these fellers a good whipping before stamping their passports with a visa. That way they know how badly they are missed around here. They live a wasteful life and one wonders if they ever see anything past the Almighty dollar. In India, routinely they burn the brides if the latter do not supply enough cash to the in-laws.

Hi guys, these past few weeks there have been too many touching the topics on racism, chinese, indians and/or asians and so on.....We all agree this forum is meant for info exchange. Let critics and politicians do these dirty work. We just discuss matter relevant to IMMIGRATION APPLICATION, LANDING, SETTLEMENT (not what´s happening in Canada before many of us landing), and other issues. I see many times such comments/responses disturb the harmony of this forum. Could such people keep low?? My request. Well, no guarantee if any one will heed to??

Cheer up guys.

You have pretty strong view dude... but I guess not all make sense to me...

1. central healthcare system. Even a poor can afford healthcare.
>> A screwed up system that never works on time... I have been in emergency room a couple of times and I guess normal waiting period is atleast 4 hours before you get simple treatment. And then the govt has been cutting down on available resources. Docs and nurses are laied off because the govt cannot put enough money. I doubt where my Tax money is going...

2. Cost of education. very cheap compared to US and most of kids can even afford till graduate level.
>> Univ education is expensive for the kids who get out... An average kid comes out with $15,000 to $20,000 in OSAP debt after graduation. This debt runs for 8-10 years where they end up paying a lot more then intended to... But yes still the cost is a bit cheaper then the US. This is because all the universities are non-private.

3. No racism. I have never seen racism here totally. I have been there in US and have seen people looking at you differently as soon as they know you are a foreigner and a sense of arrogance creeps in them.
>> If you say there is no racism in Canada then you are probably living in your own world... There is racism everywhere... its just that its a bit less here compared to US. "If you are not white you are not right."

4.Low crime rates. I have walked on downtown roads in toronto at 2.a.m number of times and its so safe.
>> Yes, I agree on this point totally... but make sure you dont walk around at Jane and Finch at 2 am

5. Tolerance towards other cultures and religion. You can practice whatever you want and they respect you for who you are. There are hardly any hate crimes.

>> Infact the mosaic culture of Canada is odd... the communities maintain their cultural values and sometimes dont mix at all so would you like the mosaic where the cultures are rigid and maintain their own values and dont mix with others or do you want ppl to mix... After all you are all in the same place...

6. Job security. Atleast if you are in academics they do not fire you immediately if u do not have funding. The department will try to support your research till you get money (for tenured professors) even if it takes time.
>>As again its because its a public organization... infact in North America there is no certainity of the 4W´s - Women, Wealth, Weather and Work. I guess in past few years there has been thousands and thousands of layoffs in Canada in the IT field... and still a lot happenind right now in Canada. The Ford plant closing, the GM plant closing...

7. Working hours: people work only 8 hours and in a reasonably relaxed manner. There is not too much stress in job like US.In some companies people work for only 7 hours but still get paid for 8 hours.

>> It all depends on what kind of work you do... and what are you ambitions... if you jsut want to work the bare minimum 40 hrs and go home do that and if you want to make some real dough then work overtime... its an individual choice... I have seen people work 60-70 hrs a week and then bank the hours and take a month off... or may be they get paid more... not a bad thing... it depends on the individual.

Negative points:
1. Getting a job is difficult. But once you get it, its should be pretty much good life after that.

2. Pay is slightly lower compared to US and taxes are more , but that amount goes for centralized healthcare anyways.

>>>>
3. High Taxes...
4. High cost of living in big cities
5. No good retirement plans available for the citizens.
