| Subject: More then six month since recive file transfer not |

I applied for Canadian Immigration in april 2004, Recieved file no. In may 2004. Recived File transfer notice to detroite in dec 2004. Since then site has updated 5 times and no sign of file for interview.
Fax couple time to bufflo but they didn´t reply. If any one has gone through the same time frame please help and tell me, how i can contact bufflo about file status.

I cannot promise that they will answer you....when I emailed them about the delay in the online updating of the status list, they answered me that they had technical problems....so.....hope they answer you....
Have you tried CAIPS notes? you might be able to see why...but this also takes about 5 to 6 weeks to get a report....but worth getting it now....

another thing....the file transfer letter mentioned that once your file has been transferred, all communications should be addressed to Detroit so maybe you can fax a letter to detroit too....

the letter i have recieved is just from bufflo that they will transfer my file to detroit. I haven´t recieved letter confiming that they send it to detroit alllready. I don´t know Y they taking so long.

Got letter from Buffalo (in Aug 2004 alongwith IA) that they will transfer my file to NYC. It has been more than 10 months and I am still waiting for my file to be transfered.
I have seen some people who applied after me and have already appeared in the interview in NYC. So I believe it depends on the individual case.
I applied for my CAIPS notes recently and found out that my background check is pending.

What they Check in Backround check. I have completed two year course i wan to claim more points so should i wait till it goes to detroit or send it to bufflo to claim more points

Hi,
I got my letter from Buffalo telling me that my file will be transferred to Detroit...after 5 months...another letter telling me that my file has been transferred to Detroit...waiting can really be frustrating...I have been frustrated a lot of times but I just learned to leave it all to prayers....sounds corny maybe but that´s how I am getting through....I know someday....my interview date will come.....just in case you are not yet aware of the Detroit file number list....here is a link to see if your file numbes has been received by the Detroit office....GOODLUCK....and have faith....everything will be okay....

You are not alone. My IA was in October 2004 and I haven´t heard from them since. My lawyer told me that they have to perform background checks before the file is trasnsfered for the interview, and if the authorities in the countries you stayed or lived in do not cooperate, it might take pretty long time. I haven´t sent them any police clearances yet, but the lawyer says they are not needed for this kind of background checks. The sad thing is, they might do more checks on you after the interview, so i guess you just have to learn not to think about it so much.
