Subject: Anybody consider move to small town?
So far, this two weeks, I hit most of interior cities in British Columbia, from Golden to Revelstoke, Nakusp to Creston. Also including Kamloops, Kelowna, Merrit..
Even Chase, Trail and Princeton.

Ok, almost every city have Chinese, Indian restaurants, and gift shops or outdoor tour outfit shops owned by either German or Dutch.

Guys, have you ever considered move to those community? I stopped in Salmon arm one day, just bought some snacks. The fellow is from Arizona, only open a small gift shop beside the highway in summer. He loves those kind of remote country life so much, no pressure, no pollution, nice people, you don??t have to neither lock car nor your house.

For sure, I love Vancouver too, I jog in Stanley Park each time when I visit Lower Mainland, and usually I come here every 2??3 month to see my relatives in Richmond and go to eat dim Sum that is extremely inexpensive. However, rich people are just everywhere, it makes me think I am just a piece of shit, It gonna be a unique view if I park my 86 Corolla in Robson street, since everybody have 911, M class. It??s just too much competition in Vancouver, how do you guys think? Please share.

DB... you are absolutely right. Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are highly over-rated. The only advantage to those areas is that there are lots of government/immigration services available.

I was in Salmon Arm 2 weeks ago. Slow paced, right on a beautiful lake, wineries nearby... the trick is finding the right employment fit.

if you can find the right employment, good business to work with, bingo. Look at what I ate in Golden, 20bucks dinner for nothing. if you spend 20 bucks in Vancouver, you can eat anything you want.

I talked to one Chinese restaurant owner in Merrit. She told me, once you get use to live in small community, hardly can get use to Vancouver.

For immigrants, I guess, don´t expect social service gonna benefit you as an individual. Because we are all diversity, only us can find way to invest our future. We all know, it??s hard for us to find a job. Is there anyway that we do something as a self-employ?

Well, I just came back from Lower Mainland, went back to home, sweet home in Nanaimo, gonna depart tomorrow for Northern Community, See if I can meet any unique immigrants community over Houston, Prince Rupert.

One more thing I want to share, I realize that British Columbia is just too big. I have already spent half month on the road, another half month coming. Still haven??t visit all community yet. It??s such great country with so many opportunities. We should not narrow our mind in here.

It is true that many immigrants open their own businesses because it is very difficult for them to get a job.

Being employed by someone else, generally requires that they be happy with your English. It is difficult for new Canadians to speak as well as people born here.

There is less competition in small towns if you open a store that is unique.

Db you?re right!

After my application is done , I am looking forward to move to Fort Mcmurray Alberta.

It seems that they are screeming for people up there , so it?s worth to try.
