Subject: doubts about AOR
  Hello everyone,

I have some basic doubts about the AOR letter. I have compared my AOR with 2-3 other AORs posted by some members on this forum.

Here is my info:

Category: Skilled Worker
Office: Buffalo CIC
Applied: Nov 18th 2004
Payment completed by CIC: Nov 24th 2004
Received AOR: March 5th, 2005

My AOR Details:

"This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the RPC and that a file has been created for you .

The next step: Your file has been placed in a "PRIORITY QUEUE" awaiting assessment. All applications are processed according to the date on which they are received. Once your file has been assessed, you will receive additional information and instructions. At that time, you may also receive medical forms with instructions.

We can not respond to requests for the status of your application until it has been assessed".

Now the first difference that I noticed here is - "Priority queue". Other members who wrote their AOR details on this forum didn´t use the word "Priority" . Does anybody have any idea about the "Priority Queue" ? Does it make any difference as far as the processing time is concerned ?

The second difference that I saw is that my AOR letter doesn´t mention any timeline. Like I had read an AOR a few days back on this forum which clearly said that "We are currently assessing files received 36 weeks ago". There is no such time period mentioned in my AOR letter. How should I interpret this ?

If anyone has any idea/comment about this, please respond. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance !!

Hi John,

Thanks for your quick response.

So you think this refers to the "fast lane" for processing. Have you read about it somewhere? If yes, please let me know. But the point is that I havn´t got any documents/letters from the CIC except the AOR letter that I got in March 05 and every time I check my status online, it only says-"In Process".

I don´t feel if it is moving faster in comparison to others....atleast so far !

I request others also to write their comments.

Thanks.

I had same letter and nothing move faster untill I got my medical forms. My time line:
File started - May 25, 2004
Medical forms,FBI fing.prints request- Jan.29, 2005
Underwent medical exam - February 2, 2005
Send all add. doc. - March 15, 2005
Medical forms in Ottawa - April 16, 2005
Passport request - May 19, 2005
Visa recieved in person Buffalo NY - June 7, 2005
So, I thing you can see the time move faster only after you done with medicine.
I hope this can help you.
Tatyana. Good Luck

I see from this forum that it takes approximately 1 year for processing - on the Buffalo website it says approx. 18 months. Are H-1s processed faster? Thanks for your replies.

Didi,
what is the relevance of your questions here ????

1 yr for Canadian PR by no means is a good estimate for skilled class. Its taking close to abt 2 yrs these days.
And H-1 ???? Isn´t that a US visa ? That will not get you into Canada in any case.
