  Sharon:
Please help me on this.
I have applied application on 25th April 2005.
I got file number on 26th May 2005.
On 3rd Jun 2005 I got a letter which says,

"The material you provided as a proof of your language ability in english does n´t support the level of proficiency indicated on your application"

They ar asking me to submit IELTS results within 120 days for the assessment.

I have provided
1) Hand written letter
2) Letter from current employer which indicates english as the medium of communication.
3) All my educational cetificates which indicates english as a medium
4)I have attached copy of emails of day to day social communication.

Please let me know what to do. Have they done my initial assessment???

Thanks in advance.

-Kris

First of all, what is INITIAL ASSESSMENT???

I thought File No is issued after Initial Assessment.
Then how come cic is asking you for IELTS after taking the case on file.If your eligibility criteria for skilled worker category is not met then why did they give you the file #.

I am also confused.

Sharon and other experts only can help.

Good Luck in your IELTS test.

Kris,
I think for now, just take the appointment and give the IELTS test as soon as possible. OFCOURSE, prepare well for it.

The CIC reserves the right to ask for convincing proofs for English proficiency, and its sometimes frustrating. Even some native English speakers have been asked to sit the IELTS test. I am not sure if you are a native English speaker or not, but there is nothing to complain about here, just give the test and be done with it.

Annu,
As far as I know, File number is issued during AOR. I think the IA (Initial assessment) includes the English proficiency, so its not done till Kris submits the scores.

Do what is required. Do not panic and do not ask why.
