Subject: Medical request so early ?
  Hi,
My husband(US citizent)whom live in Detroit applied for Canadian PR under SW category on Dic.2004. Got the AOR on Jan.2005 and today we received a call from the law office whom is helping us in the process, telling me that Canada sent the application for the medicals. I was wondering, Is it normal this early? Does this mean the application went through and the IA is already in progress ? When should we know if an interview is required ? The reason I asked all this is because my husband (whose the principal applicant) has a heart condition which CIC is well aware of. He went through a lot of medical tests in Toronto (lawyer advice) to reinforce our application and prove to CIC my husband´s good prognosis.
WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ? Do any of you received your medical this early ? Any imput will be greatly appreciated.

6 month after you get AOR, it´s VERY good news!!!!. Usually to get medical request about 8 month. Did you get all the medical form?

Yes Jim, the lawyer´s secretay call to verify our address to mail the medical form and all the concerning information to us ASAP. They are our representatives, so CIC go through them to make contact with us.
Thank you to all of you for answering so quick.

My gut feeling is that since you´ve already mentioned to CIC about your husband´s heart problem, they might be taking it seriously and would want to pre-screen his application before they proceed with further processing.

No need do be disturbed...it´s for your good only. If he is clear no problem if he is not then atleast you won´t have to wait for 2 years to hear a no.

Good luck!
