Subject: Family members in application form
I´m a 26 year old female applying for the permanent residence as a skilled worker. I´m single. In this case, do I leave blank for the second page of the application under details of family members? The form only indicates spouse/common law partner and dependent children to be included whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. The only family members I have are my parents and brother. I don´t know if I need to include them in this page of the application or not. I´m confused, please reply if anyone knows whether or not I should include my parents and brother in the application. Thanks.

Even though you may not be bringing your parents and brother with you to Canada you stll have to write information about your parents and siblings.

So yeah you have to give them all the info there... There is a seperate form for all family memebers...

Also look for a similar question just posted within last week.

Cheers,
HS

To add to the above reply, any time you are not sure if you should include something, remember that it is always better to put too much information that to leave some out. Don?t feel shy about adding a separate page to explain anything you feel is ambiguous as well.

Never leave a page or section blank. But rather write N/A or Not Applicable.

Hi Jen,

If you are talking about the form IMM 0008 then no you do not enter the information of your parents or brother.

If you read the guide cafrefully you will find that it is clearly stated that family member include your spouse, common-law partner, daughter or son.

I suggest that you download the guide from the following link and read it very carefully.

read the forms carefully. there is a rule that if family members are not listed on your original application (only for information) you will not have the option or ability to sponsor any of them at a later date.

well in my case,im being sponsored by my caregiver wife in montreal, ahe has applied for her work permit together with her application for immigrant and sponsoring us in July 2007,last dec 14,2007 i received our kit, am confused on some part of the forms, but here i just want to clarify one confusion of mine on the form titled details of family members.

in the instruction, i need to include spouse..etc,etc and children etc..etc, if they are not yet already immigrant of Canada,my question is should i also include my wife here? of course no doubt i have to include my 2 kids, no question about that.under the forms there is question irrelevant to my wife should i include her in this list, will accompany you, either NO or YES...if yes , she will be granted a visa, how could that be?she is there now in canada, infact sponsoring us.or maybe,in montreal he has not yet filed up her PR there maybe, so i should include here,am i right? im confused, even my wife can´t advise me what to do on this part, pls tell me what to do,many thanks
